SHORT-TERM VS. LONG TERM
With City of Refuge Ministries, we host both short and long term missionaries to serve with our ministry. If you are planning on staying with CORM for 3 months to 2 years to serve in any of our programs, you would be considered a short-term missionary. Short term missionaries typically serve with CORM in opportunities like:
-
Co-teach in our school, Faith Roots International Academy
-
Gap Year (which might include a variety of opportunities including teaching, sports, outreach, etc.)
-
Work with products and the discipleship of women in our 7 Continents Women’s Empowerment program
Missionaries staying beyond 2 years are considered long-term missionaries. They would typically serve in oversight of projects like:
-
Development of programs like: farming, aquaponics, micro-finance, etc.
-
Clinic and Medical Training/CHE
-
Oversight of positions like: housing and house parent discipleship, counseling, etc.
SUPPORT
Missionaries are responsible for their own financial support and come to CORM as volunteers. They can seek room and board off campus, or can rent apartment space in our missionary housing. Support can be managed through City of Refuge Ministries as a sending agency if the missionary desires. Even so, long-term workers are still accountable to the leadership of CORM's Board of Directors and should seek to function in an interdependent and submissive manner within the CORM community – including the scheduling of travel, holidays and breaks.
HEALTH
Applicants should be able-bodied and in good health due to the demanding physical conditions of the areas where we minister. Medical insurance coverage will be verified before your acceptance and must include emergency evacuation.
