City of Refuge Ministries Catalyst program is a 6 week discipleship training and field work program. Catalyst members will participate in daily discipleship classes led by international ministers, missionaries, and servants of God; participate in work projects that will give you a fuller picture of the work of CORM in our community and campus; go on evangelistic and research outreaches in surrounding communities; live with many rescued children and experience the Father’s heart for the orphaned, abandoned, and trafficked; gain understanding of how to minister cross-culturally; get practically equipped for the challenges of third-world nations; live in community with the many who serve and love at the City of Refuge Ministries Campus.
While your number one rule should be: be flexible, our six-week model should follow this basic outline:
Arrival: June 17th
Orientation Weekend: June 18-19
We ask that all Catalyst team members make plans to arrive on June 17, 2016. Orientation will begin the following days on our CORM campus.
Catalyst 2016 Topics:
The Father Heart of God - Learn of the transformational power of the gospel of grace and the new covenant we have in Jesus Christ and Learn how to hear the Voice of God.
Divine Plumbline - Allow God to heal all hurt and rejection
Holy Spirit and the Word - Learn the importance of the Word of God and prayer
Learn of the person and the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit
Servant Leadership and Communication - Learn how to be a servant-leader
Grow in your communication skills including interpersonal, teaching, and preaching skills
Divine Calling - Learn how to live a life shaped by the Holy Spirit, engage in relationships moved by the Holy Spirit, and discover your divine calling, giftings, and purpose in life
Biblical Worldview and Social Justice- Learn how to bring ministry to every aspect of your life, no matter what field you enter
Learn of the social justice issues present around the world and how you can be part of the answer
Debriefing and Departure:
August 2-3, 2016
Final debriefing should occur this weekend.
All Catalyst members should plan their return flights for the 3rd of August, 2016.
Work projects may include:
*Teaching/Tutoring (at Faith Roots International Academy)
*Child Champion Administration (CORM’s Sponsorship Program)
*Impact One Family Outreach (social work/family restoration)
*7 Continents (our women’s empowerment program)
*Campus Ministries (maintaining the current on-campus discipleship ministries of CORM)
*Others
The Catalyst will include at least one outreach opportunity to a community in which City of Refuge Ministries or other partner organizations are working. This will take place over the course of a weekend.
The Catalyst program requires a fee to cover room and board, pick-up and drop-off from the airport, outreach expenses, and an excursion trip.
