What is Impact ONE?

​

Impact ONE seeks to change entire communities by focusing on pairing up children with positive mentorhips, by equiping families to become self-sustainable and by educating communities through local partnership and development. 

 

The vision for Impact ONE was birthed out of our need to partner with the families of the children who attend our school and not just the children themselves. 

While we were dreaming of what this would look like for the families and what support we felt we could offer we began to see a much larger picture of our role, not only in the lives of the children and their families but also the community where we serve.

 

Impact ONE Child.

Through our Impact ONE mentorship program we are working to impact the lives of each youth who is connected with a mentor. 

We currently have several mentors who we have recruited through different campus ministries at the University of Ghana.

Our mentors join our youth at least once a month to discuss issues that our youth are going through and provide encouragement and advice to them.

 

Impact ONE Family.

Through our Champion a Child program (previously child sponsorship program) it is our goal to impact the entire family.

When a child is supported through Impact ONE at Faith Roots International Academy our team at Impact ONE comes along side the family to provide counseling, business planning, family workshops and spiritual discipleship. 

It is our goal to help the family become self-sustaining within a two-year period. Once the family is able to graduate from this program it is our hope that they will become community champions.

 

Impact ONE Community.

We realize that we are not able to change a community, but indigenous community members who are passionate for change are able to create many needed paradigm shifts within their communities.

As we enter the communities where we work we have our eyes open for “Community Champions”, people who are influential in their communities and desire change. We then train these leaders for a year and then send them back into their communities with the needed knowledge and resources to bring lasting change.
